Applying for the 1st year of a Bachelor’s degree at Université Gustave Eiffel

The "Studies in France” (Etudes en France - CEF) procedure only applies to individual international applicants with a foreign degree (not from the EU, EEA or Swiss Confederation) who wish to enrol at a French university for the first time.

You MUST submit your application online via the Campus France website of your country of origin at the following address: www.nameofcountry[in French].campusfrance.org (e.g.: if you live in Algeria: www.algerie.campusfrance.org) by 15 December 2024.

Do no submit an additional application via Université Gustave Eiffel’s application platform.

For these countries, ONLY the CEF procedure can be used to obtain a visa. All other applications will not be processed.

You must apply via the Prerequisite Admission Request (Procédure de demande d'admission préalable - DAP), “Dossier Blanc” procedure. The application form is available from the cultural department of the French embassy in your country. The embassy will forward your application to the university.

 

The embassy will also provide information about the DAP French Knowledge Test (Test de Connaissance Français - TCF) exam and the application process.

You must apply to three universities of your choice via the Prerequisite Admission Request (Procédure de demande d'admission préalable - DAP), “Dossier Vert” procedure.

Key dates

  • 1 October 2024: beginning application for forms by post or in person at the SRI
  • Before 15 December 2024: form requests by post or onsite
  • 15 December 2024: deadline for the submission of completed forms by applicants to the SRI department
  • 6 February 2025 : DAP TCF exams at Université Gustave Eiffel
  • From 1 February to 30 April 2025: assessment of applications by the teaching committees

About the application procedure

The DAP procedure :

  • Applicants can choose three universities
  • Applicants’ documents must be translated into French by a sworn translator, e.g. in Paris :  http://www.cetiecap.com/
  • The response is only valid for the year indicated on the form
    • All candidates must take the DAP TCF exam, except for :
      • Nationals of states in which French is the official language (27 states plus France)
      • Foreign students from French bilingual institutions
      • Holders of the DALF (Advanced Diploma of the French Language), level C1 or C2, DELF, level B2, or TEF with a minimum of 14/20 in the written test.

Applying to Université Gustave Eiffel for a course other than the 1st year of a Bachelor’s degree

Translating your certificates, degrees and documents :

You must provide a French translation of your documents if they are in a language other than French.

French Proficiency Test (Test de Connaissance du Français - TCF): language assessment

This test is compulsory and is intended to assess the student’s written expression and oral comprehension. The TCF certificate is valid for 2 years

Registration

Candidates must register for the TCF online via the dedicated website by 15 December 2024.

Candidates must pay a fee of €74* (rate for the year 2025) at the time of registration.

French Proficiency Test (TCF) sessions are organised by the universities.

Université Gustave Eiffel is holding a TCF exam on 4 February 2025.

The exam

After registration and payment on the France International Education (France Education international - CIEP) website, students will be invited to attend their test (taking place on February 6th). The exam lasts 2hrs 25min and is organised into two parts :

  • Oral comprehension (20 min), command of grammatical structures (20 min) and written comprehension (45 min)
  • Written expression (60 min)

To pass the test, candidates must obtain a score equal to or higher than 300/699 (level 3). Passing the test does not guarantee that the candidate will be admitted, but that their application will be assessed by a teaching committee.

NB

A copy of the certificate is submitted with the DAP form; the original is sent to the candidate.
