Our organisation
Governance
The general principle of governance, as defined in the institution's bylaws, specifies that the President of the Université Gustave Eiffel, through his decisions, the Board of Directors, through its deliberations, the Academic Council, through its deliberations, opinions and orientations, the Student Parliament, through its deliberations, opinions and orientations, and the Ethics Committee, through its opinions and orientations, ensure the administration of the university.
Through its two flagship missions of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility and equality, the university is pursuing its commitment to society.
The DD&RS Mission
The aim of this Mission is to disseminate sustainable development and social responsibility within the different units, departments and components of the University and, of course, among its students. The university aims to obtain the DD&RS label in 2024/2025 (a CSR commitment label specific to Universities and graduate schools).
Ethics and Scientific Integrity Council
The Governance Board, on the advice of the Academic Council, determines the composition and operating conditions of an ethics and professional conduct committee, which is competent for the activities of the Gustave Eiffel University.
The opinion of this committee may be requested by the President, the Governance Board or the Academic Council. It may also be requested by any employee or user of the university, under the conditions laid down by the Governance Board. The committee may deal with any issue it deems relevant. Committee members are appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Governance Board, after consultation with the Academic Council.
Academic council
Representing the institution's staff and users, it deliberates on matters of training and research; in particular, it guarantees the link between research and teaching. The Academic Council is made up of 71 to 75 members, including :
- 60 elected members,
- 10 outside personalities
- 1 to 4 staff representatives
The Student Parliament
A unique body in the French academic world, this Parliament was designed by and for students and is composed solely of students from the campuses who are elected within the components and other bodies, as well as students from the associative world. Its mission is to contribute to students’ well-being in both their training and daily lives by supporting a range of projects such as the organisation of cultural events and the creation of spaces and venues dedicated to student life.
